All environments created in Unreal Engine 5

I worked on a team of 3 to create this “Ghost Lagoon” environment, featuring a winterized lagoon encircled by an enormous dog skeleton. While I worked on many parts of the environment, my particular focus was on the aurora borealis effect and the lighting. I also operated the volume on set which included several sequences where the virtual lights needed to flare in sync with the physical lights during the take.

I operated for this environment in a team of 3 during filming. It was tricky because the environment was struggling to make framerate, but we managed to get it under control. Another challenge was that we needed to record the camera movement data with timecode, which was complicated, but we made it work.

For this project, I designed and operated this Garden of Eden environment featuring foliage and water. I also designed an effect of the clouds parting to reveal the sun, which we played on the wall.

I created this train environment as an experiment in controlling depth with different virtual lenses. I was interested in the way that trains are flat when viewed from the side and deep when viewed head on. This particular shot uses a long lens to counteract the depth created by the environment.

I made this environment for a transmedia adaptation of The Little Match Seller, in which this feast appears to the match seller in a vision. I particularly focused on lighting and materials to create a room that felt warm and inviting to contrast the match seller’s cold and lonely reality.

This environment was for a short sequence of a snake moving through a sleeping person’s bedroom. I wanted to use a monochromatic color scheme to make the room feel peaceful and serene. It was important to me that the snake clearly stood out, so I used dark materials and angular furniture to contrast with the bright and rounded snake.
